98000 Dehumidifiers Recalled by LG

lg dehumidifier 98000 Dehumidifiers Recalled by LG LG has recalled around 98000 portable dehumidifiers, reportedly. Consumers have been asked to immediately stop usage of all the recalled dehumidifiers, unless advised otherwise. LG’s voluntary recalling of such huge numbers of dehumidifiers stems from the fact that the power connector to the dehumidifier’s compressor can possibly short circuit thus posing or resulting in fire hazards or burn hazards to consumers. Consumers have been advised to check if their particular model is involved in recall and return the dehumidifiers to authorised LG service centres, for free repairs, supposedly.

Thus far, LG has supposedly received about 11 reports involving property damage incidents resulting in heat, smoke and fires that spread to building structures and involved significant damages. LG’s recall involves portable dehumidifiers with a 30 pint capacity which were manufactured under the brand names and model numbers of Comfort-Aire BHD-301-C and Goldstar GHD30Y7 and DH305Y7, were sold through Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Heat Controller Inc. between the time period of January 2007 and June 2008.
